I’ve been a long time user of the safari browser. Chrome always seemed like a great deal but lately it’s been getting too close to google. But my employer is a big GSuite user which means that I need a Chrome compatible browser for Google Hangout meetings (now called Meet and soon to be called something else I’m sure).
So Safari doesn’t quite cover me.
Enter the Brave Browser
Oddly, I heard about Basic Attention Token well before I understood that they had a browser. But they do. And it’s really good.
It’s open source, fast and secure by default. It’s also based on Chromium so you can get your chrome compatible GSuite Meetings without having to feel that Google is listening to your every word.
Honestly, when I first tried to move over, I thought the iPhone/Safari integration was too important. But after a few months now of using it on both desktop and iPhone, I rarely think about Safari.
I’m not certain if their mission of replacing the entire digital advertising world with a privacy first system will work but I’ll be jumping in once it’s fully released. Well done to the Brave team for putting forward a great browser. Looks like they are getting a lot of great traction as well.
